Our Experience
Working with Lincoln University we implemented Microsoft Exchange Labs (now Office 365) with single sign-on functionality. This was particularly significant as it included high levels of encryption which we built into the process. The Open Polytechnic of New Zealand contracted Business Mechanix to configure Live@EDU (Office 365 predecessor) and provide a Single Sign-on solution with their student learning system, Moodle. We worked with Te Whare Wananga o Awanuiarangi integrating with their portal (intranet) and giving them single sign-on access to web pages served by their HR System. At Otago Polytechnic we completed an environmental analysis of the technical details and setup of Active Directory / MOSS and Hotmail environments in preparation for Single sign-on. We then implemented single sign-on with Live@edu and SharePoint. We have also implemented single sign-on functionality with Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Cyclone Computers. This is only a snippet of our capabilities around single sign-on, no matter the complexity or the size or your environment we can create single sign-on solutions that will benefit students and staff.
To create these single sign-on solutions we either write a bespoke solution or use AD FS. We have been working with AD FS heavily over the last few years with our work around Office 365 and Dynamics CRM which incorporates a factor of AD FS. We are the leader in Office 365 deployments in New Zealand with more than 1 million cloud identities provisioned, which means we work with AD FS constantly so we know it inside and out. Sometimes we like to use Microsoft Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) with the single sign-on solutions and this platform is one of our specialities, we are one of the best at identity management in New Zealand.
